A Bit of Sewing, Stamping and Gardening from From My Carolina Home

Small projects were the focus over the past couple of weeks as I haven’t had any big blocks of time available to get into the basement sewing and crafting room. What time I have had was devoted to getting things ready for the quilt show, and that included deciding what I was willing to sell, then deciding on how much to ask. Each item now has one of my cards with a price on it, hanging from a green cord. All total, I’ll have 18 quilts, placemat sets and table runners for sale.

Safelight Project 2021 from From My Carolina Home

Checking with the Safelight Domestic Violence shelter in town this past week, they are running low on their spa bags. They have lasted a good long time this year due to the reduced capacity of the shelter. By the time we can get this project done over the next few weeks, they will be out of them altogether. So, it is time to do it again. Stamping Cards with a Food Theme from From My Carolina Home

I am trying hard to watch all the videos I have on that soon-to-be-gone video streaming service (details below), and of course got inspired to make a few cards.  I wanted to use the embossing technique I had just viewed, especially since I haven’t done any embossing in quite a while.  The lessons dealt with coloring and stamping before and after embossing.

Stamping Thanksgiving Cards from From My Carolina Home

Thanksgiving is my absolute favorite holiday of the year.  I love the Macy’s parade, the football games, the turkey dinner, and the anticipation of the holiday season ahead.  The fall colors are blazing, and a cold day means a fire in the fireplace too, with any luck.  I’ve been sending Thanksgiving cards to my family for years, and they look forward to getting one every year.  That means starting early, and I got out a selection of papers and card stock to get going.  These looked good together, a mix of light, medium and dark.
